MP ODONGA OTOO ON SPOT OVER ASSAULTING A JOURNALIST

The member of Parliament for Aruu county in Pader district   Hon Odonga Samuel Otoo is now on spot after assaulting a Gulu based Journalist identified as Ojok Geoffrey Okot working with Choice Fm in Gulu  on Sunday during the Fufa Drum tournament between Acholi and West Nile Province on 16th June 2019 According to the report Odonga who claims to be doing crowd management on the touch line where the journalists were seated covering the game  , then all of a sudden he pushed toward one journalist (Okot Geoffrey Okot) and sparks punching him three serious punches on his neck under unclear reason . FIVE NEW OIL BLOCKS UP FOR GRAB AT THE ALBERTINE GRABEN

FALL ARMYWORM ATTACKS KITGUM DISTRICT

The deadly but little understood crop pest, poses a threat to food security and livelihood of thousand households as it ravages maize crops in Kitgum district. A preliminary calculation estimates it has affected nearly 170,000 hectares (ha) of maize crops. There have been reports of the attack of the worm from Sub-counties of Palabek, papa, Lacani, Kica ber and Paddy. Maize is the third most important cereal crop in Kigtum district after Simsim and cassava. It accounts for 9% of the total food grains production in the district. By the time infestation was detected, it had already become malignant/deadly. Susan Aber, a former of Chakwa village in Lacani Sub-county took up maize cultivation for the first time this year. She dug a bore well and was convinced that the return from maize would be better they any other crops. GULU REGIONAL REFERAL HEALTH WORKERS PROTEST AGAINST MORTUARY BAD SMELL

The workers of Gulu regional referral hospital yesterday afternoon moved out and left the patients alone at the hospital clinic in protest against the bad smell coming from the mortuary. The workers who were very angry said they cannot continue working in that condition threatening to close the clinic and send patients back home. They claimed that the four unclaimed bodies which was brought by police took two week now in the mortuary and no one has come to claim it since last week and they are leaving them in suspense Dr Apiyo Paska said the hospital informed municipal authority two ago about the four unclaimed bodies but nothing is done to date.   adding  that she  called Gulu municipal health inspector but did not respond well to them. and  the hospital cannot keep dead bodies at the mortuary because their freeze is spoiled for three week now and they are working hard to fix it back soon.
