RESIDENTS PROTESTS SHORTAGE OF ACCESS TO CLEAN WATER

Some Residents of Ariaga Sub ward Bwona Parish Laroo Division in Gulu Municipality have resorted to fetching contaminated stagnant fish pond water source which is also being drunk by animals following an abrupt fencing of a community bore hole water source which is fenced inside Laroo Adra Primary School premises barring the over 3,000 community members from accessing the water to support domestic uses in their respective households Okee Charles Okiya a resident of the area revealed his dismay that the water they are currently using is stagnant and contaminated for human use pressing that they might not be in position to fully prevent corona virus outbreak. GULU MUNICIPAL COUNCIL TO PROCURE NEW GARBAGE TRUCKS

Gulu Municipal Council with aid from the German Development Bank has provided Funding to procured 5 new garbage trucks. The procurement process that will starts early next year will seek to address the lasting solution to lack of garbage trucks in the municipality today due to the break down of the current ones . Edward Kiwanuka the Town Clark Gulu Municipal Council says that when the trucks are procured, they shall allocate 1 truck per division and the other one will be on standby and   allocated to serve schools and hospital. However, the main challenge with the current ones is that they are too old and their mechanical challenges keeps recurring and breaking down, “You handled this problem another problem will evolved”. Kiwanuka said   Currently Gulu Municipality is only relying on a tractor that is collecting garbage in all the Four Divisions within the Municipality due to defunct state of the trucks mend to collect the garbage.

Gen Brig Bonny Donated edible items to watoto children home

The UPDF Forth Division Commander of Gulu Brigadier General Bonny Bwawiseki has donated some edible items for children being hubbered at WATOTO Children home as part of his new years gift to the children This came after he had a successful similar program at st Judes Orphanage one of the children home is Gulu Municipality Bonny Says he opted to donate such items to the children because children are the future and they needs care from each and every one as he heard that most of the children were abandoned and there is nobody to take care of them and have to be loved Irene Otuku the manager Watoto Babies Home lauded the initiative of the General and UPDF as an institution for always standing with the community. Pastor David Emma Of Watoto Church Gulu lauded the Brigadier General for his act of charity and kindness. BOBI WINE'S CONSULTATION MEETING BLOCKED IN GULU

The consultation meeting for the people power party president his excellency Robert Kyagulanyi was again blocked in Gulu town as heavy police and army was deployed in town and at the covenant where the meeting was supposed to take place. The advance group that was led by the Mityana Municipality Francis Zake was blocked from accessing the ground with claims that they did not meet the pre requisites to hold such meeting.   That blockage made Zake and other people powers pressure group members to hit the Gulu town street while marching to Acholi road were, they Later hoodwinked anti-Riot Police before disappearing in Town.
